I’m Pinar Afacan. A mindfulness & movement coach.

Specializing in helping women navigate the challenges of peri/menopause and postpartum, my focus is on reducing stress, promoting physical health through Reformer Pilates, and cultivating a self-compassionate mindset.

 

Women’s health has always been something that I’ve advocated for.

As a biologist, studying molecular biology and genetics of breast cancer has afforded me a strong understanding of the ever-changing cycles that we as women physically experience.

My scientific foundation developed into a deep curiosity into how women’s physical health directly correlates to that of our emotional and mental well-being. This would lead to my introduction into Pilates, mindfulness, and self-compassion, where I quickly discovered that my main source of inspiration and passion comes from empowering women to feel confident and strong in their bodies. Now, with over 10 years of experience in Pilates and 3 as a yoga instructor, I’m able to apply this understanding of the body as a whole and how each part affects the other to approach health from a holistic perspective.

As a mother of two in her forties,

I’ve come a long way on my own personal journey, healing through conscious mindset changes and mindful movement to become the strongest version of myself yet. Being able to relate so intimately with the women I work with, naturally allows me to take a compassionate yet motivating approach toward cultivating physical strength and positive mental habits. My focus is to educate women on self-compassion, ultimately changing the narrative around the brilliant life cycle of women and how intrinsic it is with their overall well-being. For over 20 years, my main goal has remained constant-to empower women to move freely and live fully.

I believe that our self perception and relationship to movement and food heavily dictate our stress levels and nervous system, and shouldn’t be overlooked as we grow older.
